07/20/2020 $1,500 Black and Classy Build List

Not really any changes for Today’s list from Friday’s. Nice solid R7 3700X/2070 Super Build. This is very similar to my personal gaming build and it rips through anything I throw at it.


CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 3.6 GHz 8-Core Processor ($279.30 @ Amazon*)

Motherboard: Asus TUF X570-PLUS ATX ($184.95 @ Amazon*)

Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws V 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3600 CL18 Memory ($65.98 @ Amazon*)

Storage: Patriot VPN100 512 GB M.2-2280 NVME SSD ($79.98 @ Amazon*)

Storage: Seagate Barracuda 2 TB 3.5" 7200RPM HDD ($58.04 @ Amazon*)

Video Card: EVGA GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER 8 GB BLACK ($519.99 @ Amazon*)

Case: NZXT H510 ATX Mid Tower Case ($69.98 @ Amazon*)

Power Supply: SeaSonic 550 W 80+ Gold Fully Modular ATX ($116.49 @ Amazon*)

Case Fan: (2) be quiet! Pure Wings 2 140 61.2 CFM 140 mm Fan ($21.23 @ Amazon*)

Custom: PWM Fan Splitter, 1 to 4 Converter 10 inches (2 Pack) ($9.99 @ Amazon*)

Total: $1499.32**


Write up:


CPU: I went with the 3700x because it is a 8 core 16 thread beast of a chip for under $300


Motherboard: I went with the Asus because of the price and features. Not to mention the X570 is the most feature rich AM4 Chipset.


Memory: A fox list wouldn’t be complete without at least 16GB of memory and the G.Skill Ripjaws V 16 GB rips along at 3600mhz ensuring the CPU isn’t RAM bottlenecked


Storage: As Always for this price point I am pairing a 512 NVME with a 2TB HDD. Put your system and programs on the NVME and put your files and games on the HDD and yes, the NVME had DRAM


Video Card: I went with the 2070 Super because it is a Power House under $700 that performs better than last generation’s 1080ti.


Case: I love the NZXT H510. It is a beautiful and elegant case which is also great for new builders and veterans alike with its easy cable management. It comes with 2 exhaust fans and I included 2 140mm intake fans for you to put in the front of the case. And yes, Red on Black


Power Supply: When I saw the price for this fully modular PSU I couldn’t not put it on the list.


Case Fans: I love be quiet! fans. Make sure to grab 2 for the front of your case and when you instal them make sure the arrow in the fan points toward your motherboard.



Conclusion: This is a solid Gaming PC that will run most titles on High to Ultra settings.
