07/25/2020 Saturday Theme. ROG Strix Gaming Build

This week we are going full ASUS ROG. Can you build a PC using nothing but ASUS ROG parts? No, but you can come pretty damn close.

CPU:

AMD Ryzen 9 3950X 3.5 GHz 16-Core Processor ($689.99 @ Amazon*)

As always for the Saturday special 0 compromises and this 3950X delivers 16-core 24-thread powerhouse performance.

CPU Cooler:

Asus ROG RYUJIN 360 121.8 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler ($281.99 @ Amazon*)

Our first ROG part this 360mm AIO is sure to keep the 3950x cool under pressure.

Motherboard:

Asus ROG Strix X570-F Gaming ATX AM4 Motherboard ($356.21 @ Amazon*)

Next on our list is the ROG STRIX X570 motherboard. This MB has all the features you could want. Active PCH heatsink, m.2 heat sinks, PCI-e 4.0, USB 3.2 Type-A and Type-C. The list goes on and on.

Memory:

Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-3600 CL18 Memory ($169.99 @ Amazon*)

This memory is kind of a mainstay on the theme lists. Asus hasn’t released any ROG memory yet so until they do this 32GB kit of DDR4-3600 will keep everything cruising right along.

Storage:

HP EX920 1 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive ($150.44 @ Amazon*)

Asus has released a ROG SSD. But, It isn’t in stock on Amazon at all so this 1TB from HP will offer Samsung Evo performance at half the price.

Storage:

Seagate Barracuda Compute 2 TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($59.70 @ Amazon*)

You guys already know how much I love this HDD. Price to performance and capacity it just can’t be beat right now.

Video Card:

Asus GeForce RTX 2080 Ti 11 GB ROG Strix Gaming OC Video Card ($1599.06 @ Amazon*)

I couldn’t doa ROG list and not include this Strix 2080ti. All the power and RGB you could want out of a card.

Case:

Asus ROG Strix Helios ATX Full Tower Case ($299.99 @ Amazon*)

Did you know Asus makes a ROG Strix Case? I didn’t but this case does not disappoint.

Power Supply:

Asus 1200 W 80+ Platinum Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply ($572.39 @ Amazon*)

Last we have the power supply. I wanted at least 1000w for this build and while pricey this PSU delivers.

Optional WIFI/Bluetooth Card:

EDUP WiFi Dual Band 5GHz/2.4GHz PCI-E with Bluetooth 5.0 ($29.99 @ Amazon*)

I have been using these cards in both of my personal cards as well as I believe something like 32 client builds. These cards are awesome offering reliable WIFI and strong Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity.

Total w/o WIFI: $4179.76**

Total w/WIFI: $4209.75**
