07/24/2020 $3,500 Highest-Level Gaming and Production.
This is the build when you don’t want to cut any corners. I have included a 2080ti as the main card but I have listed the RTX Titan as the alternative card for true no-compromise building.
CPU:
AMD Ryzen 9 3950X 3.5 GHz 16-Core Processor ($689.99 @ Amazon*)
16-core 32-thread BEAST. The single most powerful consumer-level Ryzen chip on the market.
CPU Cooler:
be quiet! Dark Rock Pro 4 50.5 CFM CPU Cooler ($89.90 @ Amazon*)
The 3950x has a lot of power so matching it to a nice efficient cooler.
Motherboard:
Asus ROG Strix X570-F Gaming ATX AM4 Motherboard ($356.47 @ Amazon*)
I honestly could have gone really high here but instead, I went with this MB. The ROG Strix is Asus’ Mid-tier MB which has all the features you could ever want except WIFI but who games over WIFI? If you want WIFI grab the card below.
Memory:
Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-3600 CL18 Memory ($169.99 @ Amazon*)
With a price tag of $3,500 if this PC didn’t have RGB ram I would never hear the end of it and this kit delivers.
Storage:
HP EX920 1 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive ($150.44 @ Amazon*)
I bet you were expecting a Samsung drive…. Well this HP NVME has all the performance for half the price. So you’re not compromising on performance and saving some green.
Storage:
Seagate Barracuda Compute 2 TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($59.40 @ Amazon*)
I just love this HDD so it goes on every list. This is here for anything you don’t want clogging up your NVME drive.
Video Card:
Asus GeForce RTX 2080 Ti 11 GB ROG Strix Gaming OC Video Card ($1599.06 @ Amazon*)
When you have to have the best this card from Asus delivers. The single best GPU without going Titan. For you streamers, it also has the Turing NVENC encoder. The Turing NVENC is a separate chip on the Graphics card which takes stream encoding stress off the GPU and CPU allowing you to run your games at max performance while having a nice smooth stream. Furthermore, for you production users, NVIDIA's new Studio Driver has changed the game allowing your hardware accelerated programs to better utilize the computing power the GPU provides. You can find the Studio Driver here.
Alternate Video Card:
NVIDIA TITAN RTX 24 GB Video Card ($2499.98 @ Amazon*)
When the 2080ti isn’t enough and you absolutely have to have the best.
Case:
Corsair iCUE 465X RGB ATX Mid Tower Case ($149.99 @ Amazon*)
I just love this case. It is so open to maximize airflow keeping these parts cool.
Power Supply:
EVGA SuperNOVA G3 1000 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply ($234.47 @ Amazon*)
Need some real power to drive this beast and the SuperNOVA delivers. 1000w of 80+ Gold efficiency.
Optional WIFI/Bluetooth Card:
EDUP WiFi Dual Band 5GHz/2.4GHz PCI-E with Bluetooth 5.0 ($29.99 @ Amazon*)
I have been using these cards in both of my personal cards as well as I believe something like 32 client builds. These cards are awesome offering reliable WIFI and strong Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity.
